The Shetland Museum Photo Archive contains over 60,000 images depicting Shetland life, heritage and culture dating back to the 1800s. This magnet features one such photo from 1952, with knitted jumpers stretching on wooden jumper boards.

Knitting garments are 'dressed' by washing and stretching over boards to shape whilst drying. Socks, gloves and jumpers are all dressed in this way.
