PRINTED & DIGITAL PDF BUNDLE - Shetland Wool Week Annual 2023
The Shetland Wool Week Annual 2023, Volume Nine has a grounded feel, taking its inspiration from the hues, textures and detail of Shetland’s rugged coastline and natural landscape.
Inspired by our 2023 Patron Alison Rendall, who named her hugely popular Buggiflooer Beanie after the lovely Sea Campion flower, we have included beautiful botanical watercolours by Sarah Leask throughout, illustrating the wild plants that form a part of the Shetland sheep diet.
This issue includes 12 different Fair Isle, lace and weaving patterns by 11 Shetland designers who bring very personal touches and a depth of detail to their work. As always, Shetland wool takes centre stage, with its endless colour options, warmth and durability.
Our features this year bring a deeper insight into some of the people who are involved in the wonderful world of Shetland wool – all playing a role to ensure that its heritage lives on.
