Wooden Postcard - Museum Entrance Plaque

Wooden Postcard - Museum Entrance Plaque

£5.50

Mike McDonnell was commissioned to create several works for the opening of the new Shetland Museum & Archives in 2007, including the Museum Entrance Plaque.

With his trademark humour and ingenuity, McDonnell used the Museum logo in this piece to represent some of the key themes of the Museum's collections: early beginnings, customs and folklore, textiles, maritime and fisheries, among others.

This piece will form part of Logical Confusion: a retrospective exhibition of the artistry of Mike McDonnell.

This quirky wooden postcard of the Museum Entrance Plaque is the perfect keepsake for those who have enjoyed the exhibition, and all admirers of McDonnell's works. It can also be written on in ink, stamped and sent as a traditional postcard - for a gift that is a little bit different!

Size: 13.5 x 13.5cm
